Great training days with Swedish pierre.dk car painters!
Following the conversion of all paint shops of pierre.dk to Nexa Autocolor, PPG has offered tailored 2-day courses at our Nordic Traning Center in Søborg, DK.
For the last two weeks, Product & Training Manager Nordic, Peter Boelsmand, and Technical Lead Sweden, Henric Appelqvist, have had the pleasure of training 21 motivated employees of pierre.dk.
So far, Peter and Henric have designed 2 different courses for pierre.dk, focusing on PPG’s recommendations for best practice techniques when dealing with Nexa Autocolor products.
All about sanding, drying and handling of metallic colors
At Course 1, 14 participants learned all about cleaning, sanding, primers and fillers when using Nexa Autocolor products. Moreover, the course covered different kinds of IR and UV drying and the application and fade-out of metallic colors.
Focus on topcoats and three-layer application and fade-out
At Course 2, 7 participants joined the 2-day training. This time, the course focused mainly on topcoats and the processes of selecting the right filler to ensure the correct topcoat appearance. In addition, the instructors covered all aspects of base colors and three-layer application and fade-out.
Improved key color tools
Also, Henric went through a few of Nexas key color tools, like the improved RapidMatchGo spectrophotometer and the upgraded color-matching tool, PaintManager Xi.
The right formula
It appears that Peter and Henric have found the right formula for the training sessions, with the mix of practical exercises and presentations. When evaluating the courses, the participants gave top scores both in relation to output of the courses and the presentations. In their feedback, the car painters were specifically positive about the way the teaching was conducted, and the many opportunities to ask questions and get quick answers.
From the instructors point of view, it was motivating doing the trainings. Peter says “the participants were both curious, inquiring and participating”, and this positive attitude makes it so much easier to do a good training!”
